Foot control Foredom FCT-1.  Foredom’s most popular foot operated variable speed control in sturdy plastic housing. The ergonomics allow precise and reliable speed control with your foot. Momentary on/off foot switch for use with Series SR motors (and other stationary power tools including bench lathes, scroll saws and drill presses). Allows you to sustain full speed in operation  and permits user to turn tool on and off without using the manual switch. Dimensions 7-1/4″ long, 4-1/2″ wide, 2-1/2″ high.

I love it. When you need to slow your speed or speed up you can without removing your had from the foredom piece. And it helps with safety.
